At last the romance culminates, and the change in Heather's demeanor is fully realized. Now she feels comfortable, at home, and safe. A lot of her timidity is gone and the fear and anxiety she frequently showcased in prior chapters has been replaced with the excitement and passion of new love.

The shift seems to have opened up another side of Balgair, too. His demeanor is less stern and rigid, and now that they've settled in some the sense that he needed to walk on eggshells to protect Heather from becoming overwhelmed by his own emotions is faded.

I imagine we'll see the more difficult aspects of their personalities and personal struggles return as we explore these characters more in future, but for now it's pleasant to see them not be forced to contend with the tribulations of past traumas and the suddenness of new responsibilities.
