Pound for pound, power for power, Life’s greatest mysteries often fall,
Down into darkness, brought back into the light by True Love’s call.
Welcome to the fifth edition of Thorny Thursday since I took the reigns from
’s masterful hands.Today’s first story comes to us from the very estimable
and her last Daughter of the Dragon. Join us in reading Chapter 4. I think you’ll like it.In addition to The last daughter of the Dragons, Kathrine also wrote this macabre little piece.
Our second story comes from
, who gives us the latest chapter of The Jarl’s Son. Following an afternoon of savoring love, Gaiur and Marten join forces to go after the Bear. On the way, they share love’s touches…Our Third story is from another serial, this time
’s Pretend to be Nice. The following is chapter 5, in which Baz has to save the woman who just told him, “I love you.”Next up is Chapter 2-2 of
’s Chute D’ Innocence—their French love story. Taken from their own words, “Here is my contribution to Thorny Thursday, it is Francais, and one about a man rescuing a girl from vile misuse and her in turn rescuing him.”While
doesn’t have a chapter for us today, he reminds us that he’s writing three books. So, for Thorny Thursday I don’t have any new fiction chapter which is particularly thorny. So instead I will give a brief shoutout for the three fictions that I am publishing, chapter by chapter, all of which are ‘Thorny’.
Contract Marriage: A girl goes with her mother to another planet for her mother’s job, just about the time she was starting to get good at dating, and ready for the series of one-night stands that was all her planet had. But the new planet didn’t do dating. They went straight from zero to marriage. A contract marriage, for two years or so.
Island People: Not just one marriage, but a dozen. All arranged marriages in the aftermath of a great war. Enemy marrying enemy, all enlisted into a great project to settle a new continent.
Article 17: The dictator, desperate to make sure he had enough troops for the war against the deadly aliens, wrote the law to ensure that his military men got wives. But the planetary governor’s daughter had never thought it would apply to her! And to get married to such a hero!
The lovely
gives us “The Art of Darkness (2),” in which Ms. Hollis is attacked by Vampires and almost drained dry. Morvinus comes to her aid, but for what reason? In what’s sure to be a first for any publication,
sends us a song to play. It’s his wicked ambition.
I don’t normally include my own writing in these letters because I want to showcase other people’s writing. However, today, I wanted to include the scene titled “Bonding over breakfast” before you. Love is about more than the physical; it’s also about the emotional and spiritual.
In closing, I’d like to leave you with the following: Leave it better than you found it, always give your best, and we are family.
Another great selection there. Well done everyone... 😎
Thank You!
