That accursed crown
My review of "Crown of Blood" by @thebrotherskrynn
It’s fitting that in the preface of Crown of Blood, these stories are called appendices to a greater story. The Brothers Krynn, working together, have written upwards of twenty stories about the High Crown of Caledonia, also known as the Crown of Blood, or as I have taken to calling it: That accursed crown.
Each of the men who have worn the crown of blood has been killed while on the throne. Nobody is spared, not the king, knight, or even Norseman. (I tell you, Einarr should have taken a lesson from Conan and stolen away Princess Isla, but he didn’t, and even he died for that accursed crown.)
It is an accursed telling of what becomes of men when a crown drives them to betray family, friends, and hirelings alike.
All in all, this is a great read, and if these were just the appendices, then I can’t wait to read the main story.
are master storytellers, and I am honored to have this book in my collection.
Really my friend I am so very heartened to hear you liked the story, and must thank you for the positive review.
The story to which this book is an appendice to is my Brotherhood of the Gemstone (which has 4 chapters available hereon Substack, along with a Table of Contents I just posted a few hours ago).
I'm very much moved. Thanks, and must see about discussing with Dan about that Accursed Crown Part 2 outline ;). We want to go over to-night each of the individual Kings for that one, and then outlining each individual story tmw. And sorry about Einarr, really liked him also.
