Crann na beatha and the Gods.
About how the World came to be and how the Diathan arrived.
In the beginning, there was only the darkness of time and space. Though there were other spheres where life took root and gods ruled, still Mathair Astinmah craved a world of her own where she could create life and watch it grow. So, escaping from the other spheres, she drifted through the cosmos until she found a solitary white star that shepherded nine planets.
The one in the third ring, she knew, would cradle life, nurture it, and let it flourish. So it was there that she planted her seeds and brought forth life. First came the trees and grasses, then the seas with their teeming life.
But a world without sentience isn't a world, so she called out to the other gods that had been forgotten and offered them a place in her crann na beatha. And they came, first the wise Quetzalcoatl, the father of light and winds.
